All incoming calls are taken by the Pro-Shop, they will not have time to take messages for HeatherGlen staff. You may make outgoing calls but please keep them to extremely important calls, and keep them short, and to a minimum. Use the courtesy phone ONLY for outgoing calls (located in the main entry).
Punctuality
Being on time for your shift is not only courteous to your fellow teammates, but also is an intricate part of team communication during shift change. If you are scheduled to work at 1:30pm, this means that you are ready to work, in uniform at 1:30pm.
Scheduling
We will make your schedule one week prior to the next month; this schedule will be for the entire month. Please submit any wanted days off or any preferred shifts before this time. Once the schedule is finished you will be required to fill any shifts that you may not be able to make.
Requesting Time off
At HeatherGlen, we have an extremely busy summer with many residents, golfers, tournaments, banquets, and weddings. Switching shifts with someone is not a problem, but ALL SHIFT CHANGES MUST BE APPROVED by management before the schedule is changed. If you require greater than 2 days in a row off, you must fill out a time off request. Time off will be granted in a combination of first come first serve as well as other time off requests, so it is important that you fill out and submit your requests ASAP and make sure to only asks for the most important days.
Clocking In and Out
Everyone will need to clock-in in at the Pro-Shop, Lounge, or Maintenance building. If you do not check in we will have no record of your hours worked. You must be in uniform to sign in.
Cash Outs
Special attention needs to be taken when doing end of shift totals. We must make Helen's job of double checking a lot easier. She is very busy and by us taking our time to make sure everything is clear and organized, Helen will have more time to attend to other jobs. Remember accounting is here to double check, no do it for you.
Illness
If you do happen to have an illness that would stop you from coming into work please let your department head know ASAP. We understand illness is unavoidable in many instances, please keep in mind that either one of your teammates will have to come in on their scheduled day off, or the rest of the team on that shift will have to work extra hard to cover for you. We will not tolerate self-inflicted illness, such as having too much fun the night before. Please be considerate of your other employees when making this decision, as when one member of the team is down, everyone else has to work harder. We need everyone to come to work ready to work hard and efficiently, and there is no place for anyone who is not willing to do so.
